Generic strategic profiling of entrepreneurial SMEs – environmentalism as hygiene factor

Abstract Climate change, extreme weather phenomena, droughts, fires etc. are just few examples of man-induced impact, jeopardizing the future mankind. Businesses increasingly held responsible for and try to manage their environmental impact. Environmentalism lately sustainability (manifesting an equal pursuit environmental, social, economic goals) guide strategic orientation. Whereas large corporations anchor environmentalism in mission statements positioning, reflection especially business models small enterprises is less researched. Their entrepreneurship builds on exploiting opportunities deemed characteristic enterprises, but a lower penetration instruments paired with predominant opportunistic behaviour seem characterize SME´s environmentalism. In order examine entrepreneurial value SMEs empiric study leaned population ecology. An online survey 291 explored environmentalism, profiling, performance impact agricultural industry.
